I'm considering buying a BX23 from a dealer who is a couple of hours away from my local dealers. If I need to have waranty work done, can and/or will any dealer perform the work? One of the local dealers offers free pickup/delevery for waranty work (if I buy from him). My fear is that the cost savings from the out of town dealer may be quickly wasted on transportation costs if a problem arises. Any info would be appreciated.

They will generally do the work, but they will often move you to the back of the line behind people who purchased from them, and they will certainly charge you for pickup and delivery. Unless you're saving a bundle I'd buy locally. Give your local guy a chance to match the price. ....

Some idiot did the same thing here. I told him and his wife to buy there kubota at my dealer. They always are helpful. But they bought it at another dealer which was having a spring sale. They didn't want to have to take it back there for warrenty work because of delivery charge so they took it to my dealer. It still sitting there for about a week now. I brought my B7500 in to get something looked at they did it right on the trailer. I bought it used from a guy who they sold it to. The guy who owned the dealership said, if any machine has a "I was bought at Backyardpower" sticker then it gets to go the front of the line. ....

I wouldn't want to be that dealer if the factory heard about treatment like that.

A couple of years ago I had a little problem with one of my machines which was out of town on a job. One of my employees took it to the nearest dealer. The service dept. told him it was a minor problem and the parts were in stock, but it would be a few days because they were expecting a couple of "their" machines in for service and 'my' machine would only be looked at when all of "theirs" were done. The employee called me to say he was driving back to our yard to pick up another machine.

I told him to stay there for a minute.

I called my Kubota's customer service line and explained that it was going to cost me a lot of money because this dealer was holding off fixing my machine. They transferred me to the dealer service rep. for that area, he made a 3-way call to the dealer and said (with me one the line) that he was on his way to that dealership, if my machine was still waiting wehen he got there he would personally take down the Kubota sign out front of the dealer.

I got a call from my employee about 10 minutes later to say there were 3 mechanics working on it and it would be fixed within the hour.

Don't accept any crap from a dealer about 'our machines' or 'their machines', first come first fixed, period. If not call the factory because to them they're ALL "their machines".

Best of luck. ....

I've found that the best way to deal with problems like that is to avoid them in the first place. There are enough battles to fight without seeking them out. ....

Murf, you are considered a commercial user as far as what we would consider your account. In and out in an hour or so, if possible you leave with another machine to keep you running if you are one of our customers. Not going to give a loaner to a non-customer but we do have rentals. For our home owners it is different. If the lawn is part way mowed when our truck goes out we want a loaner on the truck to finish the lawn! If the lawn is done and it's normal service or repair it is back before you need it. If you did buy it some where else we will rent to you. Spring season stretches us for everything. But that is this dealerships goals. Like in most dealerships there are times that it is hard to be as good as you can. Warrantee work isn't the money maker that many people think it is and some times it costs the dealer plenty. ....
